That is quite a pump. If it is a lift pump it will have a flexible impeller. Probably needs changed. It it is not a lift pump(mounted below water line ) it will have a fixed impeller. Pull the hoses off. Supply should run water. Blow thru the line to the ac. Could be plugged. Is the motor running?

Hi Jackie, Great boat. I have one too. The amount is definitely a lot of money. By todays standards, it may be very reasonable. The outside materials like sea deck and such are very expensive and require significant time and expertise to install. The salon if they are cutting and binding or edging for access points, that is also a lot of time and expertise. I have carpeted ours and it is not that difficult to get the perimeter right, but the hatches in a 42 present a challenging endeavor. There are 8! I went with carpet squares to give me ultimate access. I love it, the Admiral hates it. If you are going to get lots of use and enjoyment out of how it looks and functions, then it is worth it. It is not really a gasket. It is a press in seal. Very strange set up. I need to look at my notes. I think I took mine to a bearing shop and got a replacement. You can take the stat out without damaging the seal unless it is so brittle.

We need some clarity here. Is the 175 also at 2900

Such a common issue. Closed cooling was barely adequate when new. Do you have an infra red heat gun. Only way to diagnose. $25 at HF. Start there. Use the cooling diagram that is on the site here. Document both motors on the diagram. Some of us will be glad to assist when you have that data. Trust me. Many of us have been there. Otherwise you will just be throwing parts at it.

It was done as a clearance issue. Clearly on my 42 DC and the 47's there is plenty of room for a standard cap. Not sure on a 38,35's or the 31's that had the 300's in them. It would facilitate a rotor change and probably an attachment alteration. I was going to work on it but have so many spares that I have never gotten to it.

Sounds like a clearance/starter alignment issue. Shims might do the trick. I would look at the flywheel teeth if you can and be sure they are ok. Also make sure they are not somehow out of alignment

I too would patch the area. Too extreme to remove all for me. I would drench the area in CPES. Then start to patch. It’s a very small area. Epoxy and mahogany sawdust make a great filler.

Hard to know what the breaker looks like behind but I would start with Blue Sea’s. If you pull the panel you might find names on the breakers

A 47 can be moved over the road. However, if she has a bridge, that has to come off. Probably the top and side windows and windshield must come down. Additionally, she has to move with permit, chase cars and can only move during daylight hours. Looked at it many times and just could not make the dollars work.

John, I would say yes< BUT, I am not sure about the direction of turning. One tooth will give you are adjustment if you are limited by physical constraints of the distributor

The dimple is on the flat part of the flywheel. Those teeth are on the flywheel.
