Bilge pumps and odor on '64 - 38' CCC
I am installing new bilge pumps. I have two discharge ports on the port side behind the panel in the V-berth closet. I am assuming these are not original. Am I correct? One is 1' ID and the other is 3/4" ID.
Any recommendations on the quantity and locations for pumps. I have one in the keel well (not sure if this is the correct name but it is the 6' x 12' recess in the bilge floor between the bathroom and V-berth closet) which i will discharge through one of the ports mentioned above. Where else should I put one or a backup pump?
Also, that well smells horrible when the water is completely discharged. Any suggestions here? The boat sat for about 10 years on the hard with stagnate water in the keel. I have tried cleaning it but the smell won't go away.
