427 reference info
427 Captains ..... What head gasket & intake gasket brand / style can anyone out there recommend for the mighty 427 who has re-built the cylinder heads ? Fyi ,why do the new engines of today Crusader, Merc , Basic all rate their power output at the crankshaft unlike Chris Craft that rated the mighty 427 at the propeller which is a usable real number and not the fake crankshaft rating !

Just a thought... im a hot rod nut... and maybe cc rated their HP at the prop...like today's automotive engine builders they have the machine they put the rear tires on... and they simulate the vehicle on the track... but the major auto companies rate theirs at the block... to give the public a fake hp... since the engine creates a larger HP cause everytime you add a component to the vehicle it takes away some of the engine hp.... so cc let's the buyers know that the HP rating is a real thing...... just a thought...
