Found one!!! French Creek Marina in Clayton NY (almost in Canada) has a warehouse full of starters, he didn't seem phased by my request. It took me a minute to believe him, but they had the starter and they are shipping it to me!

wild goose chase: found an old manual for the Marine Power 454 and it lists this starter as a part number: 0171-000 (lists it as top mount 14" flywheel reverse rotation) I really dont know what "top mount" means, i don't the the size of my flywheel and I'm not sure "reverse rotation" means CCW... but this seems to be the part number before arco...

@Lee Dahlen Spoke with Jeromy at Ward, they have a clockwise rotation but they dont have the CCW, he's going to call his supplier as well.

Wow. I talked to Arco and this starter is discontinued, apparantly i have the original Chris-Craft bell housing and this 3 bolt configuration was special for that. Looks like i'll be getting my rebuilt after all. Unless you all know something I dont? Its always so funny when these guys say things like "way back in the 70s..."

Nope, @Wesley Heinmiller all the info is still here - on this new site and all the posts are archived under “resources” and boy there are a lot of opinions on this topic, I found about five 427 oil recommendation posts in the archives and they vary, you know what they say about opinions… As for the oil, I am not familiar with the Mobil 5-50 you mentioned, but I am VERY familiar with Mobil-1 15-50, and I am verrry impressed with it. See my article in the club files about oil. …and it is in my 427 marine sumps right now. But again, that’s just one member’s opinion!

Can you clarify your question? Are you asking if there is... - a transducer that sits inside the hull and doesn't require a thru hull - yes - i used a 'puck' device on a 38 commander and it was sketchy, barely worked, it floats in a thing that holds liquid and shoots through the hull without having to drill a hole - i dont recommend it - a standard thru-hull transducer that is wireless (not requiring wires to the helm?) thats a new one... but i googled it and it may be 'a thing' - but why not just run wires to the helm?

Mark, I reviewed the kijiji site you referenced which appears to be one of Canada’s largest sites serving over 16 million users… and Domino’s Pizza lol? Can you specify what aspect of the Dominos Pizza app you are referencing? Personally, I find the club site easy to use - I received a notification on my phone of your post, I clicked on the link it took me directly to your post. I am able to reply here on my phone and attach a picture and hit send, the type is big and it’s simple to use. Personally, I don’t see any problems or glitches. @Lee Dahlen you’re right, this boat didn’t have them on the hull and many others seems had the lights mounted on the side of the flybridge near the blue stripe, per the catalogue shots… by ‘they’ I meant Chris-Craft - they had originally had them on that drawing of the hardtop version on the hull and sometimes installed them on the hull, just behind the port light. Wonder if they actually shipped any boats without the flybridge.

@Lee Dahlen I'm discussing solutions that are NOT mounted to a flybridge🙄. The stern light is easy peazy, and the anchor/masthead seems solved, i'm just brainstorming the bow configuration of the forward nav lights on similar boats... seems like they originally had them mounted right behind for forward portlight?

Considering these as replacements for the forward nav lights, both require cutting a decent size hole in the hull which i'm not thrilled about, the other surface mount ones only require a small hole for the wire but these seem to require a relatively small cutout for the fixture to be below the surface of the hull... so i reallly want to get the placement right~

@Michael Watson I believe they did an extensive full paint job, which i'm grateful for and don't mind being able to make this decision, but not sure about the vberth panels and access, or wiring, more shall be revealed. I did buy this jetson style 'mastlight'? for the top, per the original drawings this looked like something they might have had on top of the hardtop? These pictures of placements are incredibly helpful, thanks everyone for posting!!

@Craig Collins thank you that is awesome having that pic. My boat has been painted and they filled the holes and hadn't installed the lights yet, I think I'll probably match yours.
