Saying Hi with a 69 Sports Cruiser
Hello everyone,
I recently scored a 35 sports cruiser and just got it back to my shop to begin the restoration. This thing is original down to the electric jabsco raw water pumps, 6.5A23 gen and all original switchgear, Matching serial number 427’s, and even the matching serial number propellers! She is a true piece of history!
I am a marine mechanic and electrician of 25 years and I have restored few vintage fiberglass boats over the years (Hydroswift, Uniflite, Century).
She had been sitting for at least two years on the hard, but I think hasn’t run out on her own bottom in quite a few years. I rebuilt the carbs, adjusted points and timing and she fired right up and is running mint!
I removed and restored all the thru hulls that “needed” it . We launched and cruised 40 miles home (at 8kts) very slow just to make sure the old girl was happy.
She is now hauled out indoors and heated to begin the restoration!

Greg, I'm located in Holland, MI. One of the awesome things about this Sports Cruisers is it was built right here in Holland!
