Mahogany or walnut finish?
Starting to refurb the woodwork on my 38' 1964 #4. It looks like the 1/2" plywood on the side walls around the helm may have been replaced at some point. It does not look like mahogany. So in the 1967 brochure it says "the cabin is fully paneled in a warn walnut finish". So would all 38' from 1964 on be build with mahogany with a walnut finish? Or were some built with walnut? I am not seeing any distinctive mahogany grain or ribboning.

The original color was golden walnut stain over Philipine mahogany.
Heres a link to sandusky paint who still makes it.
Based on your photo it looks like that panel on your boat is likely meranti which is in the same family as the original Philipine mahogany of which is no longer available
