427 suddenly shuts down.

Hello fellow 427 buffs, my port engine shuts down when it warms up. I'm pretty certain it's electrical. Some kind of loss of voltage to the coil. I've had the alternator looked at, swapped the voltage regulator but haven't gone to the coil or distributor yet (original). When it shuts down, the buzzer has no power and is silent. After it cools a bit the buzzer comes back on and I can start it up again. Then I'd does it all over again. I'm wondering if this is a tell tale sign of something that will help guide me to my next step, other than hiring someone. Any help is much appreciated.

I posted on the old forum that one of the failure modes for a coil is, warm, fail, cool, work, warm, fail.

Perfect for getting towed to the dock, check it out try to start, find it starts and leave the dock and repeat the process.
