Swapping engines
Hello im finding myself more and more looking at this page.... but i have a question.. ive seen where people have done it over and over.... my commander 336 has two crusader 350.... they both run... its been in storage in my boat shed on the trl.... I had made for the this boat..... anyway.... as mentioned it has two crusader 350's.... wondering how hard is it to swap to two small diesels... was told by my mechanic I could possibly sell these engines for enough to buy some small diesels.... thx... and Robert the previous owner had the trim tabs enlarged to 4 ft x 1 ft .... they have small pieces of wood that they're mounted thru and into the boat they're rotted......im thinking of making some out of aluminum they're one inch wedge shaped to nothing....to keep the tabs level to the shape of the boat.

Charles. With regards to using small reefer diesel. Issues will be they are really small. Not even as big as a small Lehman or Perkins. Marinizing will be tough. Wet exhaust will need to be custom and bell housing to trans will be custom also. Probably best to use an existing marinized power plant. IMHO
