Mechanical tach cable
has anyone ever dealt with their tach cable coming apart like this? it appears the end tip has just come off the cable. is it possible to get the cable far enough out of the housing to crimp it back on?

Probably not worth the trouble to fix a 50+ years old cable . After many years they often break internally anyway.
Classic boat connection has replacement cables.
