Introducing the Chris-Craft Commander Boat Registry

Using data from the prior CCCC platforms, Yahoo Groups & Ning,  and the current platform, WIX, we have created a searchable, historical Commander Boat Registry, that can be used to find previous owners of your boat, find out who owns a Commander by name, and find other owners that have your model.

There are a couple different ways to access the information in the registry:

General Registry:

The general registry allows you to filter by boat length, model and/or year and can be accessed under the Resources menu.

Boat Registry | CC Commander Club

For example, is you want to find all 30 Sportsman, built in 1977, you would select the year and the model, to filter the registry and show those specific boats.

 Boat Registry Search:

Do you want to find boats in your area or find out who owns a boat with a specific name?  The Boat Registry Search offers searches by Hull Number, Boat Name, Owner Name, Home Port, and Model.

To access the boat search, you can click on the “Boat Registry Search” button on the Boat Registry page OR you can access it directly under the Resources Menu:

Boat Search | CC Commander Club

Once on the Boat Registry Search page, click the circle next to the search option you wish to use, then enter the value you wish to search upon, and click the Search button.

For example, we want to look for a boat named “Maria”.  You would click the circle next to Boat Name and then enter “Maria” as the search value.  Click Search.  The search will look for any boat names that contain “Maria” and display any boats it finds in the grid.  If no boats are displayed, then there is no boat found that matches the search value entered.

When you enrolled as a member in the club, if you entered a hull number, then your boat should be in the registry.  If you cannot find your boat in the registry, you can request to have it added.  You must have the hull number.

Also, If you have owned other Commanders in the past, we’d like you to submit those boats to the registry, as well, if you have the hull number. Our goal is to continue to build the repository of all Commander boats and their owners over the years

If you are not sure where to find the hull number, this document may help:  Demystifying Hull Numbers. Also, to determine what your hull number should look like, find your boat model, under Models, and you will see the hull number ranges for your model.

Registry Request:

Once you have your hull number, you can access the Registry Request from the Boat Registry Search page or under the Resources menu:

Registry Request | CC Commander Club

Anything with an asterisk (*) is required information. If you do not populate any required information, an error will display.  Once all information is entered, click Submit.  Your request is sent to a queue for review. Once accepted, your boat will become part of the Commander Club registry.

If you have any suggestions for the Registry, please share them with Pam at webmaster.commanderclub@mail.com.

This is nice addition to the site.

A few things I notice:

-There are several boat owners that show up multiple times for the same boat.

-As James mentioned when I search my hull number, it comes up blank

-Viewing from my cell phone it doesn't let me view it horizontally and when vertically, I have to scroll sideways to read each line . Also some wording apear on top of other wording making it hard to read. Im sure it works much more smooth on a computer screen
