69 38 Sedan roof support girder question

My roof support metal support beam is intact but at the salon floor it isn't attached to anything. Are there drawing or parts illustrations that would be available to make a replacement base? I will be working out a support to run from the longitudinal stringers up to jack everything back in place but need to put back the base before that.

I looked all over the super disc but didn't locate posts about the roof support.

Any advise would be appreciated.

Thanks

Great stuff here! The PO for my ‘66 ‘38 had aluminum supports custom welded and bolted to the big stringers that hold engines. The upper end of those new supports hold up pressure treated 2x4s in many spots. You can see one of them on the left side of my port engine.

These help a lot! However, when she’s on the hard, the doorway squeezes in about 1/8” and becomes difficult to close. These boats have quite a bit of flex.

I’d suggest custom aluminum supports bolted downward to a reinforced stringer or to a new lateral support. That beefy log glassed-in in the prior post looks perfect.

My Express has never had a fly bridge, but I do wonder (at 215lbs myself) how much weight she can hold up there, and how much weight my big wide cabin roof can hold. I tell people the limit is two persons at one time.

I also need to get a Superdisk!

Great discussion 👍🏼
