Engine squeak at startup (1973 36’)

When I start my starboard motor (454) the front pulleys squeaks for about 30 sec, then it stops, I don’t like it

I did recently replace the raw water intake pump that mounts to the front pulley… this must be a pretty obvious sign of something that I thought you all might know. See video.

I agree that you likely need to tighten your belt, I see you have a crank driven water pump. It would be a good idea to confirm that the bracket that keeps it in place is not under any strain which could potentially cause the pump to sit slightly cocked (an over tightened belt can also cause this). If you don't already have one, be sure to add a good check valve between your seacock and the pump so that your impeller doesn't have to suck air before getting a nice consistent supply of water. This high-volume water pump moves ALOT of water so also be certain your hose clamps and all fittings are good and tight to avoid introducing air (or leaks) into the system.
