Hello all. I’m repowering my 1968 Commander Express. I have 2 Ford 427’s one which needs a rebuild, it has a rod knock. They have the paragon transmission’s as well. I’m just wondering what they are worth? Any advice would be helpful. Thank you.

I've had to replace both the 427's in my 42... First one was in 2011 - last one purchased was in 2018. I believe I paid around $2700 for each time for each engine. First was a long-block with a bunch of stuff that was attached to it (no heads) and the later one was basically the block, and all of the items attached to both engines (transmissions, closed cooling systems, heads, manifolds, etc. but not manifolds or risers - I had purchased those separately). As mentioned by Scott, there are a lot of variables... Take both of our figures with a grain of salt and I'd say you are somewhere in between... but again... variables.
