47 30amp inlet

Last summer I was going to replace one of our Hubble 30amp inlets with a new Marinco. Found two extra black wires on one so I just buttoned it back up. Does anyone have an idea what these are for? I don't believe they were on the other inlet plus on the Marinco there was really no access for the additional. Appear to be original but don't know for certain. The pic shows the two in question on the upper left.

That wiring configuration is not factory original. You should only have one black, one white and one green wire running to each 30A/120VAC inlet. I have 6 x 30A/12VAC inlets on my 47 (4 are factory, 2 per side plus a pair on the transom that were added later) and none of them had more than one set of wires. Chris-Craft's original configuration of these inlets to be in parallel with no selector switching is dangerous. I added ELCI breakers at each set of inlets and added two 4 position selector switches at the port side electrical panel where they originally were joined together.

Does your boat have another panel added that went right to the inlet as a source?
