35 Commander Sports Express wood trim aft

I am replacing the wood trim on my 1971 Sports Express 35. There are four pieces...two foot 'steps' and two long thin pieces that run fore and aft atop the gunnels.

For those who have replaced, did you use mahogany or teak? And, do you have a preference? My stairs are in good shape; they just need refinished.

Hi There,

There's not really a wrong choice if your you're planning on brushing some type of exterior coating them .

If you're wanting to leave them natural, teak would be the more durable option.
