1972 chris craft commander 28 mystery
just picked up a 1972 Chris Craft Commander 28 and can't figure out much information from the previous owner all I got was a 9-character number as the Hin number contacted Chris Craft haven't heard anything back.

if anyone can help that would be great

It isn't as informative as you might hope for if you are used to a VIN. It isn't a goldmine. The FSA tells you the model, the 28 tells you the year, the rest of it tells you things like the number of the boat built that year, or something more specific to that year. Not exactly a goldmine of information. Your best bet is to network with someone with a similar FID, or post your questions here.
