Chrome Re-plating in New England?
We have started going through the 1966 31' Express we recently purchased and realizing a lot of the chrome is a lost cause; particularly the hand-rail end's on the bow and top of the cockpit canopy but also everywhere else really (throttles, fridge door, the original lock for the cabin door, etc). I've called around locally to price out re-plating the chrome but am coming up dry (and I'm told it will likely be prohibitively expensive?). Does anyone have any suggestions for somewhere in New England to get these replated or is this just not done anymore? I'm assuming finding original replacement parts in decent shape is a matter of luck...?
TIA for any info

You're better off replating whatcha got as it will definitely go back into all the same holes.
Good quality legit tripple chrome is not cheep . To soften the blow you can replate a select amount each year instead of doing it all in one go.
Dont be fooled by cheep prices .
I promise you truly get what you pay for!
Just recently, I decided not to follow my own advice as I was drawn in by a shop in cleveland that gave me an "unbelievable price"
Not only did they do exceptionally poor quality chrome , they also polished the bare parts so much so that they removed massive amounts of metal from the parts. And even worse , they managed to loose 2 parts from a customer's boat and refused to purchase replacements or refund me any money.
Hope this helps
