Don't know if you tried this... few yrs ago "mine stays in my boat shed on its trl" but I was looking at mine and noticed two hairline cracks.. and I found one on ebay... rudder and everything from top to bottom.. and even has the box with it and rudder almost looked new... shaft was same length and rudder was spotless also.... and the entire shaft with rudder was only $150 including shipping
Was going to just bring down into the shaft and reweld... and even ask a machine shop if they would do it in a lathe. But they said they couldn't due to liability....
Dang spell check.... was just going to grind into mine since they didn't look to deep and reweld
