Last Friday I received a cell phone call that made my pulse race for a moment. The boat stored next to my boat had overturned. It's the nightmare for any boat owner. A boat that weighs several tons and overturns on the hard often suffers major damage and causes ditto. When working with antifouling painting, the boat owner had loosened one of the supports, and at the same time realized that he needed to get something on board. He started to get on board and the redistribution of weight caused the boat to tip to the side. Obviously a lot of bad luck, but within itself there was also a lot of good luck in play. First; the boat owner escaped unharmed. Second, my boat survived without dammage. There are literally only a few centimeters between the hulls of the boats after the fall. Third, the neighboring boat also appears undammaged. A mobile crane will come reposition the sailboat. Our boating season could have come to an end before it even began.

The brand name "Chris Craft" is not always easy to spell correctly, especially for people who do not use English as their native language. A few weeks ago I picked up my 31´Commander at local Swedish service yard where I had some maintenance work done. The keys to to the boat had the depicted label attached to it. Up until then I was unaware that Jesus appears to have been a previous owner! 😂
