Dick Avery was a leading Chris-Craft designer during the company's fiberglass era, best known for shaping the Commander line and XK series. 
 
The second photo, in this listing, shows Dick Avery in the Chris-Craft styling studio, where many classic Commander designs began on the drafting board. His sleek, automotive-inspired designs helped define Chris-Craft's transition from wood to fiberglass boats.
