Hello,
I am rebuilding my aft bulkhead on a 30 TF. I pulled off the veneer and only found a small portion of outboard side of the wood dry rotted. 7/8 of the wood is in great condition. My plan is to break out the bad area, then epoxy it. Get another 1/2" piece of marine ply with veneer teak and sandwich it all together. I know the "correct" way is to tear out the whole bulkhead but seems way to much for me. Any other ideas of how to go about this?
I too would patch the area. Too extreme to remove all for me. I would drench the area in CPES. Then start to patch. It’s a very small area. Epoxy and mahogany sawdust make a great filler.
