Curious why you say ‘for a knowledgeable boater’?
A knowledgeable boater should be aware of the famous Chris-Craft 47' Commander (and other size Commanders) exceptional build quality and design, for only one example, having been labor intensive hand-laid, finn-rolled fiberglass lay-up instead of a lesser quality gun-sprayed chop-strand fiberglass manufacturer process. Further, an knowledgeable, experienced boater likely appreciate the incredible value of the listed $ sale price for this available first generation year 1972 Chris-Craft 47' Commander motor yacht and also will be more likely to understand and appreciate what the required updates are and realize that these required updates should not be a "deal breaker", etc., etc., etc.
My understanding is that pictures help to establish the condition of a boat in order to discern whether it is worth setting up an appointment to view the boat. Two boats of the same age and model can be significantly different in how they were ordered, maintained and are ultimately worth. Mark, your pictures from a distance fail to convey anything about your boat...
I once drove over 11 hours to see a rare Chris-Craft 47' Commander for sale because I am a serious purchaser and it was not a waste of my time or gas. A serious purchaser will make the serious effort. Vetting non-serious purchasers is required and worthwhile, no offense, simply move along.
I agree with Mark! I’ve gotten a lot of “dreamers” and fakers that have little knowledge of owning, maintaining and operating these classic Commanders. They waste your time texting with questions that indicate they did not even read the Ad. A “real boater” with boating knowledge will call and discuss the boat. It won’t take long to know they have a genuine interest. If interested they will schedule an appointment, not waste your time texting. I’ve bought and sold 10 vessels myself. Never sold one to a “text” person. You really need to have a lot of knowledge and experience to fix problems that occur with older vessels. The other option is an open checkbook to pay someone, if you can find one qualified. My two cents.
