Since purchasing boat always noticed a faint odor and assumed the waste lines needed replacement; pulled the lines today and they were much worse than anticipated, nearly clogged; messy jobs removing; I purchased Santi-Flex lines to replace and a Raritan toilet to install; I was hoping the holding tank was good, but unfortunately it also appears pretty bad; I feel at this point am going to have to remove and replace the holding tank to do the job properly to ensure I eliminate all potential sources of odor.
The previous owner said the tank was replaced once and whoever installed actually had to cut a section of the bulk head out and fiberglass back in; the tank is under the floor in the downstairs hallway; I don't see any other area to put a new tank; there is a storage type area directly behind the bathroom but access would still involve cutting something open; no real room in the bilge area.
If anyone can offer any insight or know this boat well please let me know; my thought at this time is to possible cut the same opening that was completed in the past in order to remove the old tank and install the new.
Thanks - Greg
Seems Dick Morland addressed this by opting for the Vacuflush option, I might be mistaken. I believe vacuflush lets you have a remote tank. I also had a friend with an incineration system.
