I want to remove my helm gauges from my 1968 38' Express to have them redone. I can't seem to get my hands up far enough to get to them and I can't see what i'm doing. Also if I do get them out i'm not sure if i can get them back in. Has anyone accomplishied this?

Yes sir and it was not fun. But I used a LONG 1/4 drive extension with a deep socket. Make sure to label every wire with blue tape and a sharpie. and Also Turn off the battery charger and DISCONNECT the batteries (all) The Amp gauges are live 24/7!!
One other secret is some of the middle guages can be reached easier by lifting the shift/throttles out of the way. Hope this will help!
