I have a 1984 Commander 315 and it doesn't have a Bimini top. I would like to install one this season and am not sure of the correct size .

The cool thing about canvass work is that as long as you like it and it does what you need , then it is always the correct size.
Find a good canvass shop that has some good references and they'll work with you to make it exactly how you want it.
It can be Taylor fit to your height, it can be longer or shorter, more or less camber, the color You like,
Store in the exact position you like, etc.
You may want to take existing holes into consideration so they can hopefully be utilized.
I'd recommend going with 1" tube for good rigidity,
If you're going to have an enclosure attached to it , bevsure it is as easy to use as possible. Easy to roll up the isinglass and secure it in the up position.
Lots of possibilities.
