27' Commander for sale. Hull #FXA270064h.
The boat is in decent shape with most of the difficult projects done but there are (as always) many little projects. The boat runs well, sounds great, and is fun to cruise.
-Single small block First Mate 350ci engine, FWC
-BW 1.5:1 Transmission,
-4 Blade prop, new shaft, PSS Dripless seal, new cutlass bearing, and painstaking alignment in 2011
Asking 10k or best reasonable offer.
Given the new site won't let me click on you and find the location, where is the boat?
Hi Tim,
The boat is in Massachusetts just a bit north of Boston.
If transportation costs are an issue, I'd be happy to negotiate for a good home.
Where did you source that engine?
Ben, a couple of questions:
Which year is it? The hull # does not match up in the Essential Chris Craft.
Could you post some photos of the interior?
Can you list some of the "little projects" that need doing?
Is there a holding tank for the head or is it still a thru hull?
Are there any other canvas other than the bimini?
Where in Massachusetts exactly? I have a brother in Ipswich who could inspect the boat for me.
How fresh is the bottom paint?
Is it in the water now or on the hard?
I'm assuming you replaced the original engine (327 ?) with the 350 in 2011, is that right?
Is there a trailer?
Thanks,
Best, AR
Hi Andrew,
Thanks for the interest, below are some responses.
I am not positive of the year but the documents that I have list it as 1967.
There are more pics at the link below, let me know if you are looking for others.
Seems endless with a boat of this age, this year I'll replace the battery cables for example. The interior could use some finishing I have been picking away at it.
The toilet is a camp style, the thru hull has been removed and patched.
The bimini is two part, and there are covers for them
The boat is in marblehead.
The bottom is pressure washed and painted with ablative bottom paint annually.
It is still on the hard, probably going in late june.
Yes, the motor is a First Mate GM350RA
No trailer, but I have stands and blocks.

Hi Jim,
The engine was from Marine Engines Inc. Holliston MA.
Ben,
Thanks you for the quick response.
The aqua colored sink is evidence that it is a '67 or older.
If you have some more photos of the interior that would be helpful. Also are there any issues with the exterior gelcoat? Is the Commander emblem still intact on the stem?
Looks like from the photos that the cabin ceiling upholstery and the bulk head upholstery needs to be done?
9. Probably a stupid question but the First Mate GM350RA I assume is a marinized engine?
Thanks again,
AR
The exterior gelcoat on the hull is original as far as I can tell and it is intact but not perfect. When cleaned up it is great looking 10+ feet away. The topsides of the cabin have been painted with a topside paint to match (hatteras off white)
Is there something specific on the interior you want to see?
Yes, the engine is a marine engine and is freshwater cooled. The starter and accessories came from the 327.
which commander emblem? I am guessing no...the one in the cockpit is there and I have another repro laying around somewhere...
27’s never had an emblem on the stem, as far as I know. At least, I’ve never seen one that had it. Mine has an emblem inside the helm area.
Thanks, Jim. I was beginning to understand that so thanks for clarifying that for me.
I first posted this a few years back on the old site after soliciting an estimate the boats value from the club. At the time I was advised 10-12k so I originally listed it for 12k/bro. Now 10k or best offer. If someone in interested feel free to reach out as I will be flexible for the right person as I no longer have time to properly enjoy it. It is currently on land but I can start and run it for anyone interested in looking at it.
