New To The Dock Shop - 11x17 1964 38' Commander Express Brouchure Photo signed by Fred Hudson

Fred Hudson (1929–2010) was the legendary Chris-Craft stylist whose work helped launch the entire Commander line and ultimately inspired the formation of the Chris-Craft Commander Club itself. While naval architect Bill Macerer designed the hull of the groundbreaking 38' Express, Hudson created the boat’s distinctive topside appearance, interior layout, and overall styling, giving the Express its unmistakable profile and enduring appeal. The success of the 38' Express established the design language that would define the Commander series for decades to come.

As Chief Stylist for Chris-Craft Industries from 1960 to 1964, Hudson was responsible for the styling and design of the 1964 38' Express Fiberglass Chris-Craft Commander, the model regarded as the beginning of the Commander era.

This 11" x 17" commemorative print on Xerox paper from a 1964 Chris-Craft Commander 38 brochure is signed in silver ink by legendary Chris-Craft stylist Fred Hudson.  It is an authentic piece…

Close up

Good afternoon all, does anyone have a close-up version of this? I am trying to restore it and need the original for a comparison/reference. I know they were painted from the factory, but I am pondering the feasibility of a viny decal. Thanks for the input.

The photo the char put up is of the emblem on my dads lancer which I repainted.

Below is a 23 Lancer I restored several years ago that has a vinal lancer emblem sticker which turned out pretty good.

Hatches on sports cruiser 42

Could someone possibly post a picture of the inside of one of the deck hatches, especially the latches? Mine are missing the latching

mechanism entirely and I’d like to find originals or fabricate my own.

Thanks
