Our 31 Commander has surface corrosion on the aluminum windshield frame. Not terrible, but still a bit unsightly. Was wondering if I could apply vinyl faux teak flooring strips to the aluminum frame to hide the corrosion. Has anyone tried this? i ordered a roll of the strips from Amazon, and will try this.

I would think that the strips might not last or retain the look you’re after due to UV exposure. That said, it would look pretty neat for a bit. Unfortunately, the only way to to truly fix the aluminum frames are to strip them down, sand and polish out the corrosion and have them re-anodized and sealed. Post pics if you proceed with the teak strips, I’m curious to see the look you get
I installed one roll of the faux teak trimi over the aluminum windshield frame. The 3M adhesive seems very strong. The look is not bad. Beats seeing the corrosion on the aluminum. I ordered 3 more rolls of the trim at $12 each. See photo.
That does look nice!
