After jumping through hoops with the PA Fish and Boat Commission, I was finally able to get the 360 Commander we purchased titled and registered in PA; to find out they registered it as a 1982 Chris Craft verse a 1983 which was on the previous Title from owner/Michigan; after reaching out to my State Rep and in turn speaking with the PA Fish and Boat; they explained that the Hull ID should be 12 numbers with the last dictating the year of the boat; they further stated they would not change it; before I go back to the notary and take up further issue I wanted to see if anyone had additional information.
I think I would leave ignorance to its own devices, accept a valid title and get the hull card etc. from the Mariners Museum. The Museum documents will take precedence over the title with anyone knowledgeable and for most others it's just a pretty boat.
