The Chris Craft Antique Boat Club (CCABC) wants to be a resource for all ChrisCraft (Commanders, Roamers, sailboats, runabouts, utilities and cruisers) owners. Those who have read its quarterly publication, The Brass Bell, know that the club takes pride in featuring the Commanders as well as the other boats built by the legendary company. We know its been somewhat of a burden for Dr. Curt Radford, who has done most of the writing, and we hope that others will be willing to submit items and articles. In addition, the club has a substantial archive of information on the Commanders and copies of that information is free to club members. In addition, those who are regular readers of The Brass Bell will note that we "profile" club members on a regular basis and we discern from the CCCC discussion group that there are interesting personalities in the Commander ranks deserving of "profile" mention.

Another Brass Bell feature is the Trading Dock in which we advertise without charge for club members. Frequently, we see inquiries about vintage items on the CCCC discussion group and know that we have seen desired items advertised in the Brass Bell Trading Dock. For those that are looking for more than just a part, i.e. an entire boat, readers will always find several Commanders advertised for sale due to member's health, age or other circumstances requiring the sale of a beloved Commander. The Brass Bell definitely targets those interested in the older ChrisCrafts and provides the best opportunity for finding a good home for a Commander. The club also maintains a comprehensive website at www.chriscraft.org where some advertisements and other items of interest appear.

Another advantage of club membership is the 50% discount on membership in BoatUS. The club has recently been granted 501(c)3 tax exempt status by the Internal Revenue Service so anyone making a gift or contribution to the club can receive tax exempt credit. In Florida, the club was able to persuade the legislature to eliminate renewal licensing fees on vintage craft. While we were not able to limit the benefits to club members, we do take pride in having achieved this substantial savings for vintage boat owners. Membership in the Chris-Craft Antique Boat Club is a mere $25 a year.

With all of this in mind, the Chris-Craft Antique Boat Club invites all Commander members to join and benefit from membership. Membership checks and request may be mailed to: Chris-Craft Antique Boat Club, 217 S. Adams St.. Tallahassee, Florida 32301-1708 or wwright@nettally.com.
