Dockage

Captains, we have reserved access to the entire transient dock, and additional room if necessary. If you are planning to bring your vessel to the event, please note that in the registration form below. Please provide as much advanced notice as you can so that we can prepare the marina and ensure that we have enough room for everyone. Dock Fees will be $1 per foot, per night, and can be paid directly to the marina.

When contacting the hotel to make arrangements, please mention that you are part of the Chris Craft Rendezvous Group. 50 rooms have been blocked for our group. The room block and rate will be held until July 21st, after that the going room rate will apply and the rooms may not be available. The hotel is brand new (fall of 2005), and is within a 10 minute walk of the marina.

You do need to register to participate in the event. Please note that event registration and Hotel reservations are done independently of each other. You need to take care of both.

Wednesday

16 August

For anyone wishing to make a group trip to Dubuque on Thursday and needing dockage for Wednesday night, transient slips will be available at Island City Harbor. Cost is $30 for boats up to 40 feet, after that it’s $1 per foot over 40.

 

Thursday

17 August

For anyone wishing to join the Commander Cruise (either with boat, or as a passenger), contact Chris Orphal.  A group trip from Island City Harbor (ICH) to the Dubuque Yacht Basin will depart at approximately 12 noon on Thursday.  It’s about a 4 hour trip to Dubuque from Sabula by boat (1 hour by car), including a lock through in Bellevue, IA. 

 

Friday

18 August

Casual arrival and registration from 10a to 5p on the dock – get your shirt(s) if you order (details coming soon on the design)  Sub sandwiches, chips and pop will be available for those interested around 5:30p. Cost for the informal dinner will be $5.00 per person.
 

Saturday

19 August

Registration at the dock (10a to 4p) for late Friday or Saturday arrivals. Boat owners may go for short cruises at their discretion during the day.

The National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium

This is a private event for the Commander Club only. The museum itself closes at 5pm to the public. At that time we’ll have private access to the entire museum and all exhibits. Dinner will be buffet style starting at 7pm. A cash bar will be available. We will have use of the museum until approximately 11pm. Cost is $35 per person, kids under 12 are free.
 

Sunday

20 August

For those interested, a farewell breakfast gathering at the Hilton Garden Inn will be available for $7 per person. It’s a great opportunity to meet up one last time with your fellow Commander Club members. After that, take some time to come back to the marina for additional commander talk or boat viewing, as well as to see the Commanders off as they depart for their home ports. Tickets for the breakfast will be handed out during registration.
