mahogany interior!
This always fresh water boat was re-powered in 1991.
The original 427’s were replaced with new 454’s, shafts,
transmissions, and props. Regular maintenance by
previous owner and I have provided a little less than
1100 hours of virtually trouble free operation – and
many more to go. Regular maintenance performed, and
always synthetic oil. 60’s vintage Onan generator was
added by the previous owner and was rebuilt by Onan
prior to being installed. Newer TrueCharge 20+ battery
charger, newer Bennett Trim Tab pump and Automatic Trim
Tab option, new potable water pump, and newer batteries.
In
2004 all new carpet (back deck and entire cabin area)
was installed, all new oatmeal colored canvas (back
sheet, hard top triangles, windshield cover, front hatch
cover, spotlight cover, front pennant flag cover) was
made, and new fridge installed.
In
2006 some chrome work (air scoops, and bow plate), new
26” Chris Craft name plates, new back deck and cabin
stairs (hand made mahogany matching the originals), and
gelcoat refurbishing (wet sand, polish, and wax). While
not currently installed, I have the original military
mast (removed by previous owner when the cabin headliner
was replaced), most of the optional shower components,
and an original 1968 Commander sales brochure in mint
condition.
Last year, both paragon transmissions were pulled out
of the boat, and were completely rebuilt by Federal
Marine (one had a minor leak, the other had a failing
hydraulic pump), a very well respected service center
for Paragon, Velvet Drive, and Hurth transmissions.
They have less than 3 hours on them and are in “as new”
condition.
I
really hate to sell the boat, but the purchase of a 1967
42 Commander was too good to pass up.
