Specification

I've decided to sell Ishtar (formerly Curt Radford's Cabin Fever). This is a stunning 38 that is most likely one of the nicest, original 38's anywhere. See many pictures of Ishtar in the "models" section of the Commander Club site under "Joe Attura - Ishtar". Shed kept in Wisconsin from 1967 until 2005.

I bought her from Curt, then pulled the 1997 400 hour fuel injected Merc 7.4's to rebuild the engine room: new exhaust system and mufflers with custom glass tube 5" outlets, new mahogany and aluminum engine stringers, shaft logs, dripless shaft seals, upgraded 1.5" ss shafts, DQX Nibral Michigan wheels, all new engine room wiring, batteries, switches, etc. And, a new 5kw Westerbeke generator (custom white paint).

New hydraulic steering, head, etc. She has the desireable mahogany interior. All work done by one of Maine's top yards. All chrome is excellent, including both helms. Non pitted aluminum, stanchion bases, etc. Incredible original gelcoat.

Shes quick: 22 knot cruise at 3200 rpm, 30+ knots at 4250 WOT, and the fuel injected 7.4's are fuel efficient. Ishtar runs like a new boat. See also Classic Yacht magazine (the bridge shot on the cover is Ishtar. Some, but not all, of the other pictures are Ishtar). I've invested $140,000 into this beautiful boat. If you want one of the best at a fraction of the cost of restoring a 38, here she is. Call with any questions.
