Specification
I bought this
rare Yachtfish model in New Jersey in November 2006, with
the intention of restoring her. She had been sitting for a
while, but with a bit of work under the supervision of a
reputable surveyor (survey available), we launched her and
motored down to her present location in DC. The rebuilt
8-V53’s smoke a bit, but settle down under load. One or more
of the pistons of the stbd engine leaks fuel past the rings,
but that’s a fairly easy repair and does not render her
inoperable. Upon arrival, we removed the rusty tanks and all
the fuel lines. These will need to be replaced. We also
removed all hazmats and power-washed the bilges. The rotting
aft cockpit floor was removed to get to the tanks and it
will need to be replaced. The aft bulkhead between the
cockpit and the aft cabin will need to be replaced. I lived
aboard her over the long cold winter and have insulated most
of the cabin ceilings, painted the main cabin and started
putting down new flooring. There is a spare stainless shaft
section and 2 props.
What works: engines, 12? kw genset, electric toilet,
cold shore water, all interior 32vdc system and charger,
120vac system, three new starting batteries plus house bank.
What doesn’t: A/C (I have a rolling portable 10,000
btu unit which I will include). Needs second bilge pump, but
has a new 120vac emergency sump pump. She needs new fuel
tanks and lines to move under her own power again. She needs
a holding tank and plenty of TLC. She might need a new water
heater (I haven’t tested it yet.
Extensive survey available upon request and contact info of
the captain who brought her down here. The pics are from
when she was layed up in New Jersey and others are available
upon request.
Why selling? I have a new job 45 miles from the boat
and I won’t have as much time for the restoration. I love
this boat and am not going to give her away. Plus, I have a
35’ Chris Catalina aft cabin and one boat has to go! |
