Updated 01/01/12

Mark your calendars: August 2 – 5, 2012

Known the world over for hosting GM, Ford, Chrysler and being the birthplace of Motown, Detroit will now host The Chris-Craft Commander Club’s 2012 Rendezvous!

With so many local Commanders and members in the area, this rendezvous is sure to be one of the best yet. We look forward to seeing new faces and old friends at the event.

Kean's Marina (also on facebook.com/keansmarina) was chosen because it is a family friendly marina with an array of amenities including a pool & jacuzzi. They have great facilities and hold many events there during the year. They are known as Downtown Detroit's Best Harbor.

About Detroit

The “D” is a very diverse region with a rich history and culture. And just five minutes via bridge or tunnel you can be in another country!

Downtown Detriot is alive with renowned museums and theaters, casino hotels and a transformed riverfront. For more family fun in Michigan click this link.

Popular attractions in the Downtown district include the Detroit Institute of Arts, Detroit Science Center, Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History, Detroit Historical Museum, Motown Historical Museum, Fox Theatre, Comerica Park, Ford Field, GM Renaissance Center, Campus Martius Park, Cobo Center, Joe Louis Arena, Hart Plaza, Greektown, Detroit International RiverWalk and Belle Isle.

Music: Detroit is a city of rhythm giving the world music genres like Motown and techno, and exported world-class musicians to other genres like jazz, blues, gospel, rock and hip-hop. Detroit not only built cars and companies, but the sounds that revolutionized the world. These are the sounds of Detroit.

Metro Detroit is home to a rich automotive history (of course) represented and celebrated at our many fine museums and events. The region also boasts numerous theaters (including the most theater seats outside of New York City!), unique shopping experiences and exciting casinos.
