January

Featured boat in January is
Whit's End, a 38' Commander which used to be owned
by CCCC membership chair person Whitney Pillsbury.
Just before the end of the year Whitney sold this
boat and had it shipped to a new owner in France.
The photo was shot by Whitneys friend and fellow
CCCC member Joch Beatman during a cruise in New
Jersey/New York waters.
February

55'
Commander. See the May story below for details.
March

The March calendar photo portrays
Web Commander, owned by none other than your CCCC
webmaster Alarik von Hofsten. Alarik found this 1967
31' Commander in Florida in 1998, had it shipped to
Sweden and restored from the keel up.
The photo was shot last summer on
lake Mälaren by Alarik during a photo session from
the top of a tall rock while his wife and very
talented "manouvering officer" Helena was driving
back and forth at 28+ knots. Web Commander is
equipped with dual Mercruiser 350 MPI Horizons.
May

The May calendar photo portrays
Lucky Irishman, a "woody" Commander which makes it
slightly out of scope in this club. Because it is so
beautiful and carries the Commander name we thought
is well worth including in our calendar.
It is a 1953 40’ “Commander” Express 1 of 7 built.
Powered by none other than twin Chris Craft FWC 427’
30 knots without breaking a sweat! The boat is owned
by Mikel G. Kennedy and photographed by Paul A.
Mathias.
Paul also shot the the February
calendar photo of the 55’ Commander owned by his
parents Paul H & Joan Mathias. The 55' Commander
photo was shot using Lucy Irishman as the photo
platform. No that's some platform!
August

First out is the month of August
shot of Hooz-A-Bum V, a 1971 35' Sports Cruiser
owned by Mike Shrage. The shot was taken from a
helicopter the weekend of the
Rendezvous in Algonac. Mike was taking a few of
the out-of-town travelers for a ride on the St.
Clair River.
